Who is Brady Global?

DAS Outdoors

Who Is Brady Global?

Some of you have been asking why has Rich started to post about Brady Global and the two logos.

Brady Global is the company name and it has been so for for quite a few years now, but we've been trading as DAS Outdoors.

The reason that we continue to trade is DAS Outdoors was because you were familiar with the logo from the Denbigh Army Surplus days.

We wanted to maintain some continuity, keep things familiar and reassure you that it was still very much us running the company.

That being said, the legal company name has been Brady Global Limited for almost ten years.

There’s a two fold justification for the "global" element. We were doing a lot of international shipping.

Plenty of our clients were in mainland Europe, United States and Australia.

Brady Global helped to communicate that we were not just a company in North Wales
that deals solely with local people.

The other reason is that when Rich was searching for the URLs, brady.global was available.

A Brief History

Originally, the company name was Denbigh Army Surplus Limited, which made total sense. At the time we were an out and out Army surplus shop. So, having that reflected in the company name made a lot of sense.

In 2018, we transitioned away from Army surplus to make to manufacture outdoor shelters
out of old military parachutes. A little bit of a crossover, in the sense that we were using ex-military stock, but very different business, very different audience, including new customers.

You may even by one!

We've changed from business to customer, B2C, to a business to business, B2B, company.

Now, our clients are bushcraft companies, schools and scouts organizations. Corporate entities, really.

At the time, I didn't think we would secure that type of client, if there was still a connection
to Army surplus.

I didn't want any stigma of old, tired, kind of used army surplus to take away from the fantastic shelters that we've been making, since 2018, which is why the company name is changed from Denbigh Army Surplus Limited to Brady Global Limited.

We're telling you all of this now because we're going through another period of change.

We're Running Out Of Parachute Shelters.

We've done a series of videos that to go into a bit more detail, but we will still be operating as a business and utilising the assets that we've got here in Denbigh, North Wales.

We've got a decent sized industrial yard with a warehouse on it and plan to use those assets as a way of generating revenue moving into the future.

We already rent out half of the outdoor space to a contstruction company and following the container moves that we did back in January, we're now renting out shipping containers.

We have 3, high top, 40ft shipping containers still available to rent for storage. Once we clear out the old shop space, we will be offering some internal storage too.

In addition. Colette wants to start serving food from our yard!

Very different from manufacturing parachute shelters for the outdoor industry!

However, that will continue for the next 2 or 3 years. We've still got plenty of cargo parachutes to break down in bushcraft tarps.

We'll communicate both the parachute shelters and the rental aspect of the businesses through the existing DAS Outdoors social channels:

We will be using two logos to distinguish between the type of video content, so it will be very clear what type of video you will be watching.

If it is a Brady Global, it will have the Brady Global logo in one of the corners. If it's a DAS Outdoors parachute shelter related video, t will continue
to have the DAS Outdoors logo.

This will mean that when you see us posting videos, you'll know immediately
whether it is a parachute shelter or a storage related video.

Allowing you to watch the videos that are most important to you.

We hope that, those of you that are local, will continue to watch both sets of videos, but I am aware that if you live in the United States or the South coast of England, then hearing me talk about a 40ft shipping container you can rent out for storage is a waste of your time.

The one thing that I want you to remember in all of this is that it's still us.

We're going through another period of change, something we've done consistently for the last 35 years, but it's still the Brady family.

It's still Mick and Rich, but there will be less day to day work for the both of them to do.

If we still have 2 or 3 years worth of bushcraft shelters in stock, why are we talking about Brady Global?

After we transitioned from an Army surplus into DAS Outdoors; making parachute shelters, it's become clear that we didn't communicate long enough and we weren't insistent enough, because 8 years on we still get phone calls off people asking about boots or wanting some camping gas.

Some of you even call and say “We’re outside at the gate. Why aren’t you open?”

The fact that it still happens all these years after we closed the door to our retail shop means not everybody understood where the business was going.

We endeavor to be clearer at this time!
